Executive Officer

The Executive Officer (XO) serves as the #1 to the Commander and Deputy Commander in execution of the encampment.
His duties vary as the tempo of the event increases and decreases, but he generally serves as "Chief of Staff" for
the activity, with Finance, Administration, Logistics / Transport, and Communications reporting directly to him.

In years past, the XO has been hands-on responsible for the tracking and writing of all checks during the activity,
set-up of base and remote communications, and procuring the encampment t-shirts from the vendor, and may
be asked to assist in creation of the encampment keepsakes, as well as off-activity financial reporting.

Due to the hands-on nature of this position, the XO is required to participate in most planning activities from
January to April (and beyond), RST, and be available for the entire encampment, including (preferably) the
entirety of both Fridays.
