TAC Commander
The TAC Commander (TC) is primarily responsible for the training and
assignment of TAC Officers.
The TC reports to the Deputy
Commandant of Cadets, and is the direct report in the chain
of command
for all TAC officers, however the TC is not in the cadet chain of
command, beyond the basic responsibility
of all senior members and TAC officers to maintain cadet safety at all
times.
The TC will assign TAC officers to their respective flights, as well as
create training curriculum for the TACs
to be presented as part of RST. In addition, the TC may be tasked
with creating or facilitating TAC or related
senior-member training as part of the encampment.
The TAC is also ultimately responsible for the health and welfare of
our TAC Officers - insuring their experience
is enjoyable and meaningful, and addressing any needs or concerns they
may have during the activity.
Those interested in serving as TAC Commander should have previous Cadet
Program experience, including (but
not required) service as a cadet. Current service as a leader in
their local squadron is preferred, and previous
encampment experience is a must, preferably as a TAC Officer or similar
role at ILWG
Spring Encampment.
Due to the hands-on nature of this position, the TAC Commander is
required
to participate in most planning activities from
January to April (and beyond), RST, and be available for the entire
encampment, including (preferably) the
entirety of both Fridays.
Once selected, the TAC Commander will have a substantial role in
the
selection of all TAC Officers, including
solicitation of members to participate in the activity.
As the hands-on commander for our TAC Officers, the TAC Commander plays
an important role in not only
the safety of our cadets, but also the encampment experience for some
of our newest senior staff. He will also
help in building future encampment staff from the TAC Officer pool.
