Finance
The Finance Officer (FM) is primarily responsible for issues involving
revenue and expenses before, during,
and after the encampment.
The FM reports to the Executive Officer and
serves as an ad-hoc TAC Officer in addition to the duties regarding
encampment finances. Note, in most cases the Executive Officer
will also serve as the Finance Officer.
The duties of the Fiance Officer
include:
Opening a new checking account for the encampment in compliance with ILWG Account policies
including securing the signatures of ILWG
corporate officers as directed.
Consulting with the Encampment Commander on the
annual budget.
Deposit and tracking of all revenue in advance of
the encampment.
Writing of all checks during the activity.
Voting member of the encampment finance comittee with spending approval
and authority.
Completion of end-of-activity finance report in compliance with ILWG directives.
Quarterly reporting as required by ILWG (assumes multi-year
commitment).
Those interested in serving as Finance
Officer should have a working knowledge of the CAP financial regulations
and policies, preferably in service as a squadron FM, ILWG reporting
and account policies, and/or similiar business
experience. Working knowledge of Quicken is
required.
The Finance Officer is
required to
participate in most planning activities from January to April (and
beyond),
RST, and be available for the entire
encampment, including (preferably) the entirety of both Fridays.
In addition the FM will work with the Encampment Commander on the
transition to new accounts. Because of the
need to be in proximity to Group and Wing HQ for required signatures,
deposits, and other transactions, the FM
will need to live or work within the NW Cook, Lake, or DuPage County
area.
